Water Skiing

Water sports are a way of life in the Delta. Here’s what a few locals who’ve chosen to make the Delta home have to say.

Growing up on the California Delta has brought my family and I many unforgettable memories;

from watching the 4th of July fireworks on our boat, to participating in the annual Rusty Porthole Frozen Bun Run on New Year’s Day, it has always been a way for us to get together. I have been a Delta girl since I was born, my parents would always take us out on our boats and jet skies for mine and my brothers birthday celebrations. Spending so much time on the water has given me the opportunity to learn many skills like wakeboarding, barefoot waterskiing, knee boarding, and riding stand up jet skis which I am extremely lucky to have been taught by dad and brother who have also grown up on the Delta. Over time I have learned to appreciate the lasting memories the Delta gives my family and the community around me.

The California Delta is the most wonderful place I know.

Depending on what you prefer, you can travel to the SF bay/Pacific ocean or to your favorite quite slough for a ski ride. The fishing and wildlife is beautiful and abundant. Seeing a turtle sitting on the same log every time you drive by is breathtaking. There’s no place on earth that I more enjoy the sun rising or setting, than this place.
